A still red wine from the Valle de Uco region of Argentina.

Deep & sapid. Sour cherries, white pepper, liquorice

Tasting Notes

The Grand Cabernet Franc 2018 from Alpasión is ruby colour with garnet hues.

On the nose it’s dense and deep with sour cherries, white pepper, graphite, liquorice. It’s sapid too.

The mouthfeel is rather chewy, warm and peppery, spicy almost.

On the palate it’s sapid and toasty withdark chocolate and coffee.

The finish is rather long.

Cabernet Franc

Grapevine that yields black grapes used for wine

Cabernet Franc is a popular black grape variety grown all over the world. It’s mostly grown for blending with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in the Bordeaux style, but it can also be vinified on its own, as in Chinon in the Loire. It is also made into ice wine in Canada and the United States, in addition to being used in blends and grown as a varietal.
